The Guild II: Renaissance

CTD Trying to Save or Access Menu
Wondering if there is a fix or if anyone else has this problem. Everytime I try to save be it auto, quick, or manual the game crashes. Just pressing the ESC key or clicking the Options button also crashes the game. Happens on all saves and new games. Have Windows 8 64 bit and a EVGA 780 graphics card with an up-to-date drive.

hmmm.... which keyboard do you use? If you use a Logitech Gaming Keyboard remember that it's drivers can cause some games (and also the OS) to freeze or crash if you have a nVidia video card.

My keyboard is a Microsoft Sidewinder, but my graphics card does run nVidia GeForce...so is that the issue?

could be... maybe some other out-dated drivers?

My drivers are up-to-date. I'm thinking it is my new graphics driver because the problem started once I updated to a new driver, but I don't know for sure or if it is actually causing the problem because it happened prior to the update but it was very rare.
Perfectly describes my situation. Currently running this on a GTX970 with a newlyupdated driver. BEfore I updated the driver I would get a crash that would say it can't access my driver. But now I can get into game and then it instantly crashes with no warning once I press the escape button. That or the day will end and it will crash.

This problem is driving me nuts.

I reloaded the nvidia driver prior to the new one and as far as I can tell the problem is fixed. I don't know what about the new driver caused the problem and I don't know if the problem will reoccur or if it will happen with the new driver they come out with.

How can I reloaded the driver?

Go to the NVIDIA website and then find the drivers tab. Since you have a GTX 970 though I don't think you can download the previous driver.
