Faith in Destiny or Spellforce 2

Quick question, which one should I buy if I don't care about the campaign? I would like to play this game, but not for the story (I never play the story mode in RTS games). I just play the skirmish mode and/or the conquest mode (i.e. conquering the world in Rise of Nations). If that is my goal which version should I choose? I know that Faith in Destiny recieved terrible reviews, but if I don't want it for the campaign and don't care about visuals..... is it a better choice (the map editor seems nice). I would rather not buy both if they have the same skirmish mode quality in each.

For your style of play I would say : neither one. As a long time Spellforce Fan this is the only answer I can give you. Best parts of both games (but esp. SF 1 / SF 2 - Gold) IS the story. And to be honest the multiplayer/freeplay sucks. There is no long time fun to be had in it, nice to play around a bit but thats it.
Oh and good to know is that the Spellforce 2 Online servers are not online anymore ;-)
So I would say for multi get another game. (This is MY opinion, please don´t start flamewars)

Hmmm, I did go ahead and pick up Shadow wars because for some reason the expansion went from $3.74 to $5... I may try out the campaign if it is really that good. The game is structured differently from my initial impressions after reading reviews. I understood that you would level your main character like in Warcraft 3, but that their were dungeons and other interesting xp garnering spots on the map. Meanwhile you build up your forces to support your hero.

Obviously this is not the case, but I am still enjoying it. I guess I can give the story a shot, I just usually find RTS campaigns to be dull and restrictive with few chances to implement any real strategy.
