Screen resolution issues
Hi all,

I just loaded Spellforce 1 and went to options to set the video and sound options. When I set the screen resolution to 1600x1200x32 my monitor gave an error saying "Input signal out of range". The rest of the screen is black. Now, I can't put the resolution back to what it was (1280x800 probably). The game is not crashed: the music works, and I can skip every intro movie by pressing Escape, just as it's supposed to. Is there any way to solve this problem? I tried telling Windows to open the game in 640x480 but that didn't solve anything.
My system: Windows 7 home, Intel Celeron 2.2GHz, NVIDIA GeForge 8800GTS 512mb video card. EDIT: which has the latest drivers.

Thanks!

- Pep

This should work:

Open the following file ../steam/steamapps/common/spellforce platinum edition/config.lua

Find the line that reads ScreenResolution = something

Change to ScreenResolution = 1

That should open the game in a lower safer resolution.

Thanks :) I figured that out myself after extended Googling, but forgot to post it here.

Recently changed my monitor and just hit the same problem, thanks for pointing out what file was needed.
Spotted it when I was looking about, but was put off by .lua, more used to .cfg or .ini
