Weird error after about an hour of playing
So I was just about done with the tutorial level when I started getting an error with textures and models getting scrambled and flashing everywhere around the screen. After a few seconds it stopped but my mouse had a bunch of pixels around it and I could not select anything. I brought up the menu and quit. Then my screen went blue, then black, then blue and my monitor lost signal. Had to hard reboot my computer.

Win 7 64x
nVidia GTS 250

I had this game in 2010ish I think. And it was buggy back then as well. Items not working, heroes unselectable, crashes.

You do know that Win 7 is not an approved operating system for Spellforce, so it could be something to do with that. I have been able to play it all the way to the Mosaic puzzle and it freezes when I select a piece. (tried 3 computers). It did freeze once earlier in the game, and I figured ut a workaround--but this time I am stuck--the whole computer locks up, requiring a hard reset.

Incidentally, I am not having any problems with SF2 or the expansion pack, Faith in Destiny--you may want to try those,

Interesting. I have had this game now for about a week and no problems. In this situation I assume there has been a patch or something to correct some issues since the last somment is a few months ago. I am pretty sure my computer specs are less than Dirt5o8 and I have I think 32-bit Windows 7.

Did any of you try running the game in xp compatibility mode?

Before anyone says anything - I own this(Plat. Ed.) through gamestop/impulse - actually only here because I was thinking about picking up the whole set.

I played Spellforce Platinum without any crashing in Windows 7 64 bit version. The main problem was not being able to access the options menu. Clicking on options will cause the game to crash The only annoyance was not being able to adjust the sound level. Everytime i started the game I had to turn the volume down on the speakers. Screen resolution was fine at the default setting.

I tried using the various compatability modes but none of them worked. If you look on JoWoods website you can find a workaround that involves running the game in a window. You can then access the options menu. Make your changes and then switch back to full window mode.I'm not sure if that will work with the Steam version though.
