+1 if they're doing something with Spellforce 2 source code by still releasing addons after 7 years since last released addon by Phenomic, they could do something about SF1 like they did Steam Edition update for Red Faction Guerilla or even better example KOTOR 2 (simple update: high monitor resolutions, achivments, cloud saves, workshops). Some devs are calling such updates as remastered or HD edtion but this isn't true if they did nothing about texture resolutions etc. There are many old games released unchanged which are playble only because modders unlike on GOG platform. We already have resolution or even HD texture mod and we are able to play online through VPN services that emulate LAN. It's godwill gesture that devs making new updates for old games without payment.

I agree.
On wsgf.org is a simple widescreenhack that just requires you to replace the exe file and it works great. And on the nexusmods page for Spellforce someone even made HD textures 11 1/2 years after the release of the game. 11 1/2 years! Multiplayer is still possible by simply using tools such as Hamachi to create a LAN network over the internet.
It's great that today we have tools to expand the lifetime of games that would otherwise be long forgotten. Ofcourse I would be happy if they would have included official Steamworks online support or host official servers for the gog.com and disc version, but in the end I am just very happy that nordic games is apparently determined to continue the spellforce franchise. They made a solid addon with Demons of the Past compared to the disaster that was Faith in Destiny and they are even working on Spellforce 3. As someone who loves the franchise since he was young kid, I am quite glad it still lives.
