How do I actually login?

Before you answer with something mean, I've played 40+ mmo's in my life, and never had such trouble registering, and logging into a game before. I have no clue where to put what information in the play online launcher tool. It's asking me for 3 id's, and 3 different passwords.


I registered on the square-enix play online account management site.
I registered my CD key information on the site, and it shows in my account.

Where do I put the information in when adding a member to the play online viewer? Any help is massively appreciated, and I thank you ahead of time, I've never been so frustrated trying to login to a game.

The error it's giving me is incorrect play online id/password. My Square Enix id is correct. Problem is I don't know how to make the separate play online id. When I google it, I get the square enix account that I already have. Anyone have a clue?

I've encountered the same...or rather, similar problem when logging in. I checked all my info and everything is correct, my SE account shows up on the POL viewer...and then when it asks me "Enter Member Password" I honestly cannot figure out what it is for the life of me. I've used the numeric code provided to me during my initial sign-up, I then went and updated it on my account site so that it's NOT a number (...at least I think I did) and no matter what, none of the passwords I enter seem to work during the log in process.

Been trying to figure it out for a few hours now but no luck. u_u

I finally got logged into the playonline viewer, but it tells me I have no game content ID now, even though when I look at my account on the website I clearly have the final fantas 11 complete pack registered.

Ahhh that is so frustrating... I'm still having issues with logging using a password... but I think I need to sign up with my billing information so that I can have a character attached to it? But then I went and attempted to Link my SE account with my POL account and it said it could not be transferred. AUUGHH...As for content, ID I came across this post a little bit ago when trying to find a solution to my problem as well:

Not sure if you gave that a try already but doesn't hurt to check it out I guess. I've never had this much of a hassle signing up or registering for ANYTHING...this whole system is totally backwards. Definitely needs a revamp.

I initially had issues registering my content with the Playonline Viewer as alot has changed since the last time I had played it.

What solved my issue was changing my Square Enix Password. Everything else was unchanged, it's like it couldn't recognize my old password when I was atempting to link it to my Square Account. After that I was able to log in, even use my one time password key.

Perhaps try that? Log in to Square Enix, go to account management, change password, bring the POL back up and attempt to log back in. That's honestly all it took for me.

For the content ID problem its that you have to go into services and then options list and then you will be able to add a character to ur account for 1$ a month, first month is free of course since the trial, but at that point you can have a content ID and create ur first character.

Hey guys!

After more lurking around trying to find everything, I finally fixed the issue. ...apprently one of my passwords was mistakenly in all caps, so once I figured that out I just had to make some edits. It always seems like the last thing on your mind happens to be the one thing you needed to fix an issue. haha

I appreciate all the help and feedback! @Zorlac, hope everything works out for you and that you get the game up to speed!! This whole process is uber wonky. @_@

Ahhhh now to wait for them 7-9 hour updates... Haaaa

Ok, making an account for final fantasy 11, and actually getting logged into the game was the game is the most offensively over-complicated thing I've ever had to sign up for. I was very close to requesting a refund from steam for the game. It's not a joke when I tell you it took me 5 hours to figure out everything that I needed to sign up for, what passwords and account names to use, and then how to login to the stupid client thing. I've played mmo's for 14 years now, and am probably at around 40 different ones, and I have never seen anything this complicated to sign up for.

I hear ya! 4 hours for me...Ugh totally not worth it.

That's not even including the time you have to wait for the updates. Been sitting here for an hour and a half and it's only 1% updated.

Ehhhhhhh. I think in my experience with MMO's this has been the biggest hassle I've ever had. I hope it's worth it once it's all installed and everything. I was also considering just asking for a refund because the process was just way too frustrating. I even thought they negelcted to provide another serial key for me since at first the two I received with my game, weren't working.

I had a ton of trouble logging/registering too but I managed to figure out everything in the end. Basically the PlayOnline Viewer acts as a gateway (you have to register yourself LOCALLY) to the FFXI client. So everytime you launch the game, you have to use the local account you register on PlayOnline to go into your actual account of FFXI. To register this local PlayOnline account, you have to have the square enix account which you add the CD key to. Then they send you your PlayOnline username, email, password etc all of which you have to enter when creating your local PlayOnline account. So basically it's like 3 accounts that you have to register lol and you have to do it sequencially. By the way, I found out that if you disconnect during the 2nd update (the one over FFXI client) then you have to completely start over unlike on Steam where it just pauses and waits. Good luck to you all! lol I hope you didn't have to suffer as much as I did....

I'm getting the POL-5312 incorrect Square Enix password or ID. I can log into the Square Enix website and check my management options so I know the username and password is correct.

Let me make sure that I have got the launcher is correct:

Member Name: The name I use to log into Square Enix and check my account.
Member Password: The Password I use to access the Square Enix and check my account.
PlayOnline ID: The Playonline ID that was sent by e-mail.
PlayOnline Password: The Playonline Password that was sent by e-mail.

There are no linked PlayOnline IDs that need to be transferred and all of my keys and one character registered.

Why can't I log on???!!!
