Edit: Forgot to mention another reason for switching weapons. It adds variety and choice to the combat. The way it is now your more likely to just stick with 1 weapon. Also if it makes the game easier they can just make the enemies harder.
That would be kinda like the awesome stuff you see find on boots from time to time.
For example, Immunity To Ground Hazards and Extra Turn.

I think this could add more to combat as it will give us a way to retreat as well as ready our weapon or attack. Keep in mind we could never move 2 spaces or attack twice.
I only use 1 melee weapon (mostly sword or a good staff) and 1 ranged (high damage chakram)
and don't switch too often in the midle of a battle.
... or we cant choose that in options ourself?
