[SOLVED] Can't get past character creation/Stuck on character maker

My copy of the game is doing this really weird thing where it gets stuck on the character creator after clicking on the “Next” button. Normally I should be brought to a menu that allows me to choose the game's difficulty. The game doesn’t freeze at all, which is the weird part. The audio that plays when the menu switches can be heard, and all the buttons on the screen remain unresponsive. I can’t do anything except close the game with Task Manager or with the right-click.

Not only that, but for some reason the character creator won't let me change my character's skin, hair color, and clothes. The arrow buttons can be clicked on, but nothing changes on my character. Everything but the character's gender and hair style can't be changed. However, I know the game has those different appearances because my character changes appearances each time I close and re-open the game.

I've tried everything to fix this problem; uninstalling and reinstalling, deleting every file on my computer, etc. This is driving me crazy because I installed this game today and it worked fine. I actually managed to play several minutes on it before I was forced to restart my computer because the game froze and wouldn't close when I attempted to load an autosave.

I've only made two major changes to the game.

The first was altering the game's resolution so I can play it on my native resolution (1400x900). I did this by following a guide that was posted on Steam (worked like a charm). That being said, it should not have broken the game like this because the resolution can be restored by deleting all the game files on my computer or verifying the game cache. Additionally, I made sure to disable any graphic enhancement my graphic card (AMD Radeon R9 200 Series) might have forced onto the game.

The second change was downloading and installing Legends of Aranna from another guide here on Steam. Again, that shouldn't be the cause of my problem if I got rid of the game entirely and all of its files.

I'm no expert at all, but this problem really doesn't make sense and I'm getting so frustrated not being able to play this game. Some help is greatly appreciated!

Where did you get your copy from & what version of windows are you running?

I got my copy from Steam and I am running Windows 10.

Apparently, because I use AMD, Raptr often runs while I play a game. It's overlay doesn't play nicely with Dungeon Siege, so I had that turned off before launching the game and now it works fine!
