Did they fix the controls working well with PC's
Heard in videos its really set up for consoles and changing angles etc are a pain and you have to use the keyboard, and possibly other issues. Was this fixed? Any answers on this?

This game is fully playable with mouse and keyboard but I strongly suggest you use a gamepad as the game is very much a console port. Also, in multiplayer games you'll notice a tether, as in you have to stay within earshot of the other player(s)- most find this highly irritating, and while there is no "official" fix, you can google how to access the in-game console which does have a boolean setting for the tethering.

Thanks for the useful info! It is the main reason I was hesitant to purchase the game haha

The controls with m/kb are an abortion. I have no idea how they managed to ♥♥♥♥ them up so badly.

I re-mapped 'a' and 'd' to move/straife left and right. That meant the keys no longer rotate the camera, and it becomes pretty unplayable...but... Then I found holding down middle mouse button rotates the camera fully, excellent! That's exactly how we controlled camera rotate in DS+2, as is mousing to the edge of the screen. Sometimes, and I don't know why it even holds the entire mouse movement to 'rotate'. For as long as you don't use the mouse for another command that is. Anyway I am trying to reproduce it so I can manage to do it allways rather than only sometimes.

You can play, but it's horrible!
better attach an XBOX 360 controller, much better.
I don't know how gaming mags in germany gave this ♥♥♥♥ 9/10 or 85%.
alone the "playability" with mouse/keyboard deserves a 50%...

Actually when you re-map the keys the game runs well. It took me about half-to-an-hour of playing to get it properly, but now - second nature. I agree the game is great.

I think there was a massive dissapointment at first with the game, with the controls because they were unmappable. For left handed players in particular that was a terrible bind. Community backlash caused the developers to patch mappable controls. It plays really well with the keys as I said, excellent in fact.

I did understand the point of using a controller as the keys were at first. I take on board that controllers (systems) are gigantically popular. Even though I only recently heard of using controllers with PC, somehow buying one passed me by. I have always been happy with all games, to stick to PC and PC controls.

controls isn't bad; if someone doesn't know middle mouse button, it's not the game's fault

@ aaslangoren, and everyone, and tony666,

Yes it's fine. The camera rotate works exactly as it did in DS1+2; middle mouse and mouse to edge of screen. (Middle mouse is listed in control config as camera rotate, but then I found it by accident too.)

Movement control I find slightly preferable in DS3, compared to DS1+2. 'W a s d', are slightly more intuitive than point and click to move. Since they are re-mappable then movement can be assigned to arrow keys for left handed players. (DS1+2 still good fun though, even by today's standards.)

I'd say, yes the controls are fixed, since they were unre-mappable when DS3 was released. It was community backlash which made the game developers patch the 'fault' of un-configurable control keys.

that's weird, tho, that the steam store page for ds 3 doesnt say partial or full controller support. controller support is very important to me, since im on a recliner in front of a tv, so im a lot more likely to buy it if it has controller support. they might be losing sales by not mentioning that this game has full controller support.
