[02-12-2016] PC Patch notes for patch 1.0.616.5 (Patch #2)
Update: This patch has gone live for Windows 10 Store users on 02-22-2016. The patch will be automatically applied for you in the coming days.

We have just released the second PC patch for Rise of the Tomb Raider, build 1.0.616.5. This patch addresses a number of requests and bugs we have seen coming up in customer support as well as on the forums.

This patch was released earlier today as 616.4 and was updated with a fix for a problem with Y-axis inversion on gamepad that was accidentally introduced.

This patch will be applied by Steam and the Windows 10 Store automatically when you next start the game.
  • Fixed Map sometimes not showing or showing the wrong region.
  • Fixed ALT-TAB in combination with Exclusive Fullscreen occasionally hanging the game or entire system. (Steam Only)
  • Fixed graphics glitches on NPC clothing on NVIDIA 6x0 and 7x0 hardware.
  • Fixed rare crashes with a "DX11 Internal Heap" error.
  • Added separate mouse sensitivity control for X and Y axis, allowing users to equalize sensitivity.
  • Added option to reduce in-game camera shake, for users that prefer this.
  • Added audio-cue for finding secrets in the relic viewer.
  • Fixed game changing system screen saver settings for some users. (Steam Only)
  • Added additional error handling and messaging in case the GPU driver is crashing or unresponsive.
  • Various performance improvements for GPU-bound situations. CPU bound scenarios are not impacted.
  • A variety of other smaller optimizations, bug-fixes, and tweaks.
While we expect this patch to be an improvement for everyone, if you do have trouble with this patch and prefer to stay on the old version we made a Beta available on Steam, Build 610.1, that can be used to switch back to the previous version.

We will keep monitoring for feedback and will release further patches as it seems required. We always welcome your feedback!

Thanks - keep up the good work!

TR is one of the games which i paid the full price - to support the devs and the pc as a gaming plattform.

Where can I see the version number of the game?
crashed a few times before
hopefully this patch fix whatever the cause was

I just hope it's not nerfed in any way so the potato users can run ultra.
fix the 144hz no steam overlay please ! and hude FPS dips, i am using sapphire r9 fury on windows 7 x64 sp1

This build causes rendering error on commando-outfit like there is no texture at all, just lightmap from nearby lights (campfire, torches..) in second wicked vale campfire.

Edit: top in command outfit is only one that seems affected, other outfits are fine.
Radeon 7970 3GB, 16.1.1 drivers.

So it's only on the executable, not displayed in the game anywhere. I'd hoped I could include it in gameplay videos. Thanks!
Just guve us DX12 leaked not so long ago. That would make an average of 10-15fps difference

nothing is 'nerfed' & if anything the previous patch saw gfx enhancements...single card nvidia performance gains are significant in both FPS & consistency (imo, no benchmarks to prove it). but try for yourself.

it does seem to take awhile for everything to load in the intensive areas, but even when it being optimized (or w/e) the FPS are lower but i could count the frame tanks on one hand...FPS pick up rapidly after a minute (geothermal valley, fresh playthru) to several (soviet installation, initial save of the open area) in these areas..same behavior ive noticed before, just smoother when its slower & faster when it peaks.

i am running full ♥♥♥♥♥♥, absolutely maxed everything (minus SSAA (x2) in soviet installation where i tested with FXAA bc w/ SSAA was hovering in the high 20s, dips into low 20s but that was before it had 'stabilized' [if anyone knows whats going on in technical terms hlep me out here]). only playable in the strictest sense of the word at that framerate.

one major thing i havent tested is a good firefight, the NPCs or w/e seem to really stress the system at times.

GTX 980OC 4GB VRAM/8GB SYSRAM @ 1080p. those settings are way above what i would expect to be able to run at non-slideshow speeds w, my specs and only a notch above recommended (supposedly high settings).

TLDR, nixxes still who you point to when devs or publishers give its the best that can be done bs.

so can we get a patch to fix temple of osiris now still waiting a year later waiting for the second patch

Honestly this is the first AAA game o get a decent flow of updates, man I'm still waiting for Just Cause 3 and XCOM to be fixed
