Does anybody do the crafting and training?
What is the benefit to doing any crafting apart from wasting time to make the game seen a little bit longer and boring to do and fills up your pouches so you have to dump everything every few minutes or purchase more storage which also fill in seconds with unnecessary crap. It seems any item you can make is lower than the lowest junk you already discarded. All of these games have this stupd quest part - I just wondered why.

The best gear in the game is crafted.
plus gathering professions can yield some nice cash.

I do the crafting. People always need gear, especially with augmentation or runes that boost a given stat, and being able to sell in the auction house has earned me plenty of pretty platinum.

The guys making runes for level 51 gear are making a killing off those who can't/don't make it. Likewise, the armor and ingots I sell make my wallet feel nice.

my personal opinion is that we should give them some cash if you like the gae and intend to stay quite a while. I want to have all 9 prof. and all bp slots

I'd probably work on getting your crafting at the same time you're leveling your character.

Gathering Professions
Butchery obtains hides, bones and teeth from animal corpses. Butchers can produce leather from hides at a Loom.
Foraging collects plants and wood logs, and manufactures planks and lumber from these logs at a Workbench.
Mining extracts ore from nodes. Miners can smelt the ore into bars at a Forge.

Manufacturing Professions
Apothecary creates Flasks, Potions, Philters, Tonics, and Vials.
Armorsmithing creates chain and plate armor, as well as shields.
Artificing creates jewelry and caster weaponry.
Outfitting creates cloth and leather items.
Weaponsmithing creates melee and ranged weapons.

Enchanting Profession
Runecrafting creates runes, used to augment weapons and gear.

Additional Professions
Fishing is both a harvesting and crafting profession.
Survival is a skill that allows you to craft food that temporarily increases your stats.

Profession Class Combinations
Warriors: Weaponsmithing, Armorsmithing
Clerics: Armorsmithing, Artificing, Apothecary
Mages: Outfitting, Artificing, Apothecary
Rogues: Outfitting, Weaponsmithing

I just learned about crafting and the benfit is you can craft many things you might need instead of buying it. I'm trying to craft some gear as well ^ and other stuff.

when it comes to crafting certain weapons were BiS. now that theres been new content added there is nothing craftable that is BiS anymore except seals and you will make more crafting and selling the mats then ya would the seals. for certain weapons one would need to be at lvl to craft, at lvl to carry/use. when it comes to armor, most of what you would "find" along the way is better then crafted. recomendation, lvl up all your professions (9 total) and then work on the mats to craft the puprle metal, lumber, and sovergin solution i think it is. each of those items go for 300-450 plat. at any rate you will be grinding and grinding to do so. certain mats can only be purchased threw rift store for the high end mat crafting. dungion marks and is for those 2 mats, or credits from real money. as for weapons iif you can get in raids to get said items (theres 3) you can still make about 7-8k pllat on the weapons. outside of that, try and get bigger bags, theres 22 or 24 slot bags on ah that go for around 50plat, unless you can craft them in the outfitter cattigory.

if in tempest bay, from portal turn around and go down the stairs, once at bottom, make left, then up a few steps to the left. there is also a ah and bank vaults/guild in there as well as mailbox outside.
