Can't start the game

Hi all, i downloaded the game yesterday whit the thought to play it.. but now that i'm finely done whit updating the game.. it won't start. The screen stays stuck at the image of a large room.. and that is it. I can't click anywhere, there is no text, there is nothing.. i can only quit it again whit Alt+F4

Thank you thank you thank you, for posting this question, and for posting an answer! I'm having exactly the same problem. I actually just wiped my computer because of problems with Rift, and I'm now trying to install it through Steam because it seems a lot of people are on there, and... I'm having this exact issue. So, yay!
