Project Whitecard Inc. have allowed 1000 people to play their early prototype this year. So, I'd make a rough guess that you should expect an open alpha in mid-2014.

Do we know what it looks like yet. Modern up to date graphics engine?

I just looked on the Kickstarter video (btw the kickstarter did finish in 2011). There was a quote that they'd develop this for the iPad. If it's exclusively for the iPad, then please let me move to a better planet. If not, then I'm kind of looking forward to the game. By the way...

The team plans to release a 20 minute adventure in late 2013, a "membership-alpha" in mid 2014, and a full game in late 2014 (thank you Wikipedia)

As for the graphics, I guess they're going to be like Moonbase Alpha except not as iffy and weird. I always thought that there was something wrong with the graphics in MA.

The Kickstarter video also said that the Unreal engine would be used. (maybe, or maybe there's been a change)

There will be more information on the MMO released soon.

In the meantime, you might find this of interest...

Thank you mjayg, I'll go check out the link. Is this Starlite: Astronaut Rescue, using the same graphics engine as the larger Starlite game. How do they compare.

I've added it to my space games list post on the Star Citizen forum:

@JonnyƦedHed Thanks for adding us to your list. Both games use the Unity engine.
