Looking for Mac and Linux testers!
With our deep focus on RIVE, the Mac and Linux versions of our older games were left pretty much unattended recently. Two Tribes is a tiny company, and we do what we can, but still, we're sorry about this situation. The good news is: we're working on updates, and they're very close! To apply the final bit of polish, we're now looking for testers.

If you own Toki Tori, EDGE, RUSH and/or Toki Tori 2+ on Mac or Linux, please do the following:

  1. Add 'deadbeef1234' as beta access code (Game name > Properties > Betas tab), which will unlock the test branch.
  2. Select the 'mac_update' test branch (even on Linux) and restart Steam. Verify that [mac_update] is behind the game title in your library, and that the game received the update.
  3. Test the game, and let us know if you encounter issues. We'd love to hear about anything that isn't 100% as it should be!

Misc. notes: the Mac builds now support game controllers and only work on MacOS/OS X 10.7+. There's a known Linux issue with random 'white lines' in RUSH.

Thanks for your help!

Tried Edge (Steam OS 2.0 update 1:2.98, GeForce GTX 960 drivers 367.27). I do see some texture flickering (Level 8 normal levels, cube just "left" of the start point) with default settings. Also, the rainbow effect when getting a rainbow cube is more pronounced than on my wife's Win10 laptop, which is kind of distracting.

Also, if I turn effects off in the options, it causes a lot of texture problems:

BTW, did some quick testing of Toki Tori 2+, no noticiable problems so far.

Just saw this topic and downloaded the betas. Glad to see you're making progress. Thank you for all your hard work! (And I still love RIVE, so I had plenty to keep me busy while waiting, haha)

I haven't played any of the others yet, but I just tried out EDGE and I'm seeing pretty much the same things as pabloandnene--one flickering cube on level 8, the rainbow flash is quite startling, and turning off effects makes it unplayable. (I tested turning off effects in multiple levels, with fullscreen on and off, and all I could see in any of them was darkness with random flickers of level geometry.)

I also noticed that the instructions seem to be cut off: the last thing it says is "to get an 's' rank you have to collect all the prisms in the" (level, I assume.) This occurs with fullscreen on and off.

Aside from the effects issue, it's looking great! I want to specifically mention how well it works with multi-tasking. It seems like a simple little thing, but a lot of games don't deal well with command-tabbing or swiping in and out of fullscreen so I really appreciate it when they do. EDGE handles it quite smoothly, so thank you!

edit: Achievements seem to work.

Turning off effects mode isn't supported anymore (I need to remove that option from EDGE). The latest Two Tribes engine doesn't work right in non-shader mode (which is what turning effects off does).

If I could get some video grabs of the texture flickering (when effects are on) that would help greatly. And if you are handy with APItrace.. that'll be helpful as well (with the video).

I don't have my Steam Machine right now (service repair), but I'll see what I can do when I get it back.

The download rate of beta patch is unbearably low, which is roughly 2KB/s... Well I'm considering going to Democratic Republic of Congo, where the speed would be 5 times faster.

I just tested the beta version and it runs without any issues in Arch Linux 64-bit... but I really don't care for the new blur effects everywhere.

Tested with MacOS 10.12.6.
This beta branch fixes the problem with the wired 360 controller not working in the normal branch.
Good to go for MacOS.

This is happening to me too, I use Antergos 64bit (Arch).
Also happening on Debian Stretch.
