Have you ever spent hours on a Windows PC playing Hearts, Solitaire, Spider Solitaire, Freecell, or any of those other card games? Expect to spend a lot of time with this title! Unlike the other standard Windows offerings, this game includes rpg elements such as a type of in-game currency (no microtransactions here though!) where you can purchase various upgrades, and a "pet" system that lets you change the background of the cards in your deck.
Now there's an alleged story element as well, demonstrating itself as nothing more than powerpoint slides with some voiceover narration. It would work well on its own as a children's fable, but as it stands it is simply jarring and distracts one from the experience, and gets in the way of the card game. The story element might count as a visual novel, if one was willing to disrespect the vast genre of visual novels by including this game's "story" in its ranks.
The game itself is great, and that aspect alone is worth several bucks. Be warned that the cutscenes are far less engaging than usual, though!
