Windows 7 + Nvidia Graphics Card + Sacrifice [Solved]
AFTER ALL THE WINDOWS 7 + NVIDIA CHAOS, THE FORMULA TO GET WINDOWS 7 AND NVIDIA TO FUNCTION WITH SACRIFICE HAS FINALLY BEEN DISCOVERED, THANKS TO SACRIFICE PLAYER "TehWinner"!!

http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=166507

**Download Latest Nvidia Drivers** http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

1) Download Latest Nvidia Inspector. http://www.geeks3d.com/20110305/nvidia-inspector-1-9-5-5-available/

2) Open Nvidia Inspector and under the driver version select profile settings (located in the middle of the program).

3) Then have the "_GLOBAL_DRIVER_PROFILE (Base Profile)" selected or you can make another one specialized for Sacrifice (located at the top of the window you opened). Then click "add application current profile" and add the original sacrifice.exe.

4) Click "Scan Nvidia Predefined Profiles..." (located to the upper right hand side of the window)
*Please Note*: If you can't do this then you must first click "Create a desktop shortcut to run profile settings" (located to the upper right hand side of the window) and run the newly created shortcut then scan "Scan Nvidia Predefined Profiles..."

5) After you finish scanning, scroll down to the Unknown Section and look for the Setting ID "PRE_D3D9_COMPATIBILITY_BITS" and set the Value to "0x00000040 (King's Bounty, X2: Wolverine's Revenge, Independence War 2 - Edge of Chaos, Falcon 4.0 Allied Force, MS Flight Simulator X, Links 2003, Gothic 2, Gothic 1)"

6) Hit apply settings (located to the upper right hand side of the window) and run Sacrifice.

I HOPE THIS UPDATE MADE YOUR DAY!!!!!!!!!!!

**Please Note** If you have a Radeon Graphics Card, you do not need to do any modifications because Windows 7, Sacrifice and Radeon are fully compatible.

DON'T FORGET TO LEAVE YOUR FEEDBACK IN THIS POST, IT IS IMPORTANT FOR YOUR OWN SAKE AND FOR THE SAKE OF FELLOW SACRIFICE PLAYERS!!!

I didnt have any problems - it just worked for me.

There is a registry modification to change the resolution.

In: shiny entertainment -> sacrifice -> options

You should have a registry key of type REG_BINARY called Resolution
The resolution I use on a 1080p monitor is as follows:

46 05 00 00 38 04 00 00 01 00 00 00 20 00 00 00 01 00 00 00 00 00 00 00

Note: This is overwritten if you enter your Graphics Options menu (back to 640x480 etc).

Note: If you want to calculate your own string - you should not set 1920x1080.
As the 4:3 culling frustrum does not scale with the widescreen aspect ratio.
In plain English: Objects, including yourself, will start disappearing at the screen edges.

I set up a custom resolution for my monitor in the Nvidia Control Panel of 1440x1080, and the option shows up in-game with no problem. This works on a lot of other older games that only run in 4:3.

Solution for laptops with integrated graphics is even easier - run it on Intel card. Works like a charm (image a bit stretched though, but that's to be expected).
Tested on Samsung laptop with nvidia 540M GT and Win7 64-bit.

in the current inspector it's actually in the undefined section (0x0090F680), just open the dropbox there.
However I still cannot get this game to run even by doing this.I can only get into the menu but as soon as a map loads, the game crashes. I tried almost everything there is (this, trying different compatibility modes, run it with lowest ingame settings, trying the different D3D options in startup) and I'm pretty hopeless now :/
I do have nvidia GTX 560 and am running windows 7 ultimate 64bit

I was FINALLY able to fix this by using the Nvidia Inspector and changing the 0x0090F680 to 0x00000040 for the Global profile. Nothing else worked. I hope this helps someone :)

I have an Intel i7 2.4 with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 675M on a laptop.

Are you sure you guys are following the directions?

I just found out what the problem for me was. I'm running Dxtory in the background because I use it to view and limit fps in games. Turning it off was all that I needed to do (with the settings in this guide still applied). So maybe if you're running a similar program, might want to turn that off.

You guys might want to use an older version of Nvidia Inspector. I noticed that the new versions didn't work well. Use 1.9.5.5 and below.
