Really want to buy...
Few questions! And I only have till the 19th ;p...

How long is the game? Is it a straight forward linear rpg?
Side missions?
From what I've read, it doesn't seem like anything else out their.

I don't play many rpgs... The only ones I've ever played through to the end are Oblivion, Morrowwind, and the original Shadowrun lol.... So I don't know how to guage this game. Looks amazing though.

Sorry for the weird questions. I just bought The Darkness 2 and it's short 6 hour campaign really phased me o.0.... XD

It's actually not linear at all, and it has extremely high replay value as a result. I remember playing through it no less than 5 different times. Though the RPG aspect is not really traditional in the sense of the other RPG's you mentioned there. It does, however, *play* like a 3rd person RPG - within a strategy game - if that makes any sense at all. But it is foremost an RTS in which you are Assuming Direct Control on the battlefield. If I had to compare the gameplay to another game, Battlezone would probably be the nearest to it in feel (just with RPG aspects replacing action aspects). You cast spells to aid your minions (which are also cast like spells), flinging rocks, fireballs, chain lightning, fatal cows, phoenixes, using unique faction shields, creating impressive volcanoes, massive holes in the world that instantly kill anything still standing where the ground drops... the standard fare, you know. ;)

The spells and minions you gain access to are directly related to the choices you make throughout the campaign. I don't want to spoil anything, but there are 10 or 11 levels, and 5 different Gods per level. Consider that each God offers its own unique spell and minion every level (IIRC, the first level has 3 spells and minions per God), and you may get a sense of just how many total spells and minions there are to play with in the game - and different combinations of those, and different story arcs that open them to you. And along with all that, you may get a sense of the very high replayability.

Also, one of the most brilliant aspects of the game imo is the army building resource system. It takes something that's generally pretty standard and tedious among strategy games and transforms it into a very fun and immersive aspect of the game which also happens to be a core component of its gameplay. Rather unlike any other strategy game prior or since, unfortunately.

As for the length, I'm quite certain even a single playthrough would last you significantly more than 6 hours, though I can't put an accurate estimate on it. I'd say first time through would be roughly around the 10-15 hour range. But the way this campaign is constructed, both in story and gameplay, it's kind of like opening a bag of chips. If you enjoy the first one, there's no way you'll be able to resist going for another!

Other than that, the story, writing (humor), and voice acting (all-star cast for a video game) are all excellent. The game oozes character out of every pore, and if you have even the slightest urge to look into it, you owe it to yourself to give it whirl. :)
