you know what mate it is an old game which i owned 15 years ago nearly, first time arounf. BUT i almost bought it again just for the convenience of not having to finfd the disk.

Let me tell you - this game is unique and I rate it as top bollock.

there is pretty much no multiplayer to speak of at this point. I played this game when it first came out and its held up rather well. the SP campaign is pretty awesome and worth the asking price.

No idea if it works on windows 8, I only have 7.

Definetly worth getting for singleplayer, and I have no idea about win 8 as i am using win 8 and it wont let me play it

The campaing is a yewel, and as you can choose different paths multiple times in the campaing it has a lot of replayability, since if you change god, the map (to a entirely new one, with a very few exceptions that only changes the side you fight for) / objetive changes too, its not only the spells that change. So its like mixing campaings mid-campaing, but if you choose 100% one god it changes a bit too.

Skirmish is really nice too. And theres a little trick to spice it up, you can change the unit cap of any map in the editor, there isn't a fixed maximum, but i remember that past a number, it crashed. Anyway you can at least double/triple the unit cap safely.

About it running in Playskool OS.. i mean, Windows 8; i have no idea. :)
But it runs great in Win 7.

The multi-player isn't where this game shines. The single player is where it's at!

Try changing it to compatibility mode?

I must say I used to absolutely love this game, mostly just for the single player campaign. BUT, I am extremely disappointed that there isn't any multi-player :-( I like to play games with friends of mine and I got pretty excited thinking I was gonna be able to play one of my old favorites with them............and apparently it is there....I should have just read down the forum list a little further :-/

There used to be a multiplayer (via GameSpy, IIRC), but even when the game was new there were rarely enough other players in the lobby to get a match started. It was an absolute blast playing on LAN with a couple of friends, though.

I only ever played the singleplayer and I remember it being different, but fantastic. I tried to sell the idea of it to my friends but they didn't get it. Evidently, the game was quite the sleeper hit.

You can play Direct IP games if you know people who have the game. (the mutliplayer is some of the best multiplayer youll see in any game, ever) As for the single player, it's top knotch. This game is a classic. Absolutely worth every penny.

Have to agree. I remember playing this game ages ago and was pretty excited to get it fired up to play again. Very unique and fun to play.
