There's a slider in-game that allows you to push to 30 FPS. That works and is in Options.
There is also a registry key in the following location that is labeled "Target Framerate":

64bit
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\VirtualStore\MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Shiny Entertainment\Sacrifice\Options

32bit
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\VirtualStore\MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Shiny Entertainment\Sacrifice\Options

Changing this to 60 MIGHT get you somewhere, but I haven't tested it.

EDIT: I just tested it and it worked. Set the decimal value of "Target Framerate" to 60 and reload the game. Tada!

I managed to get it working on the GOG release by setting "Target framerate" in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Shiny Entertainment\Sacrifice\Options. EG. I set it equal to 60 (decimal) for 60fps.

? I just said I got it working. The game's running at 60fps now.
Ah, I see, looking further into it. It seems that using dgvoodoo 2 to optimize performance was the actual deciding factor. No matter what setting is entered, the game runs at refreshrate.
So Melee damage is tied to framerate overall or is there a range where the damage increases?
Why did you necropost in my 4 year old thread
Because it was quite difficult to find pages that discuss how to set "Target framerate" and I figured if I had difficulty finding it, others might as well, especially considering that I found it in a seperate location than what was stated in the thread 4 years ago.

Yes, I understand now what target framerate does. It was difficult to find an explanation of what that setting did, so I just assumed it set framerate like the name implied. I didn't realize that the game would just... run at refresh rate out of the download if you run it with (or through?) dgvoodoo 2.
Yeah, like I said earlier, dgvoodoo just optimized performance.
