Nvidia geforce 9600 graphics card, windows vista, can't get it working!
The buttons on the main menu don't respond and the whole thing is a fail, have nearly given up so any advice is appreciated

i used tp play this on a 400 mhz cpu with a voddo 16 mb video card , problem might be that your cpu is too powerfull , This was the 1st game i couldn't play on a reg cpu and had to get a 3d Video card hence the vodoo and it was all downhill from there

Kingpin is an OpenGL game. Can you run Quake 2 on your PC too?
You should check the graphic card drivers. Is it the latest from Nvidia? Or old ones from your install CD?
Kingpin must work fine on your card.

My drivers are the latest for my card. I've checked twice and I don't own quake 2 so I don't know. I don't know how to modify the drivers to make the game work either

Lasted video drivers mostly got bugs, for allot of games. Expect for a verry few games mostly in the top 10 of games sold now. Becouse new stuff ask new drivers and new stuff makes new bugs :)

You can try with the Quake 2 demo http://www.gamershell.com/download_4577.shtml Still so fun :)
You can try to adjust the 3D settings for Kingpin in the NVIDIA Control Panel with "Manage 3D settings"

Just a stupid question: buttons on the main menu...Do you try with the mouse? Menu items are selected with the up and down arrow keys and are activated with Enter.

So it works fine with 64bit Windows 7 and a GTX 770 ? I got XP on my laptop with a GTX9800 . I got a AMD T-Bird in my garage with MX400 . I still have the original bootleg copy . I think I ran it on a 80386 .
