No worries, your doubt is totally legit - and we're going to create a new trailer soon to make sure people get what we mean straight away!
To answer your question, in FATAL ERROR there are ways to hide and camouflage in the environment that allow players to surprise their opponents.
If you just see boxes shooting at each other, the stealth part is actually working :)
We currently have 3 (out of 5) implemented Stealth mechanics. You can see them here (clicking on their name brings you to the specific card): https://trello.com/c/JjrD92WU/10-stealth-mechanics
For instance, the Transport System:
Players go in an Entrance and are hidden for a few seconds. At this moment they press one of the face buttons on the pad (A,B,X,Y) to come out of one of the Exit tubes. The tubes are colour-coded, according to the buttons.
When they press the button, they come out of the tube as a closed crate. They cannot move, but they can open by using the sword (LT) to surprise and kill their enemies.
TL;DR: Here's what I said, in an image[i.imgur.com] :)
Our pleasure :)
It is what we think makes FATAL ERROR special, and what we're focusing on when we design maps and game modes.
I mean, there's no denying our game modes are similar to the classics:
[FE] Capture the DB -> [classic] Capture the flag
[FE] Hack the WiFi -> [classic] King of the hill
... but we want them to feel fresh, so we're designing them around the stealth mechanics.
We hope you like them, and if you have comments or suggestions, we're totally open!
