Fallout 2 resolution patch problem

I can't use the Fallout 2 high resolution patch. It just says: An unsupported version of Fallout 2 was detected!
What can I do???

Have you already installed the restoration project mod? What country are you in? What OS do you have? What version of the High Res patch did you install (i just updated the link in my forum post to the new one)

I also have this problem. Here's my specs:

AMD A-10-5800K 3.8Ghz
GTX 650 Ti
8 GB DDR3 1600
Windows 7 64-bit

Do I need the Restoration Project mod to install the High Res patch?

I've fixed it a long time ago going to Fallout 2 folder and changing the resolution to 1920x1080 in "ddraw.ini"

I've ignored the patch because the game runs well at 1920x1080 resolution doing that fix.
That was the only thing I wanted.

I can run the game just fine without any fixes, I'm simply trying to fix the "rainbow colors" problem. I was able to do it on my old laptop, but not my new desktop.
