Fallout 2 Weapon model on character glitch help?

No matter which weapon I equip it still shows the regular shotgun, if I try to equip the gauss rifle it will equip it but it still shows the shotgun on my character model... any fix?

Few weapons had a sprite/model specific to it on your character. For example: the 14mm pistol looks like a submachine gun. So it's not a glitch.

It's funny how such details will never be noticed unless you actually wield it, but the good thing is Cassidy and Vic can use gauss rifles thanks to possessing "rifle" sprites.

...Yeah, those darned limitations back then. I understand these old Fallout titles haven't aged well.
