Why nerf Meat Circus?
I first played/beat a retail version of the game, and Meat Circus wasn't too hard. It felt just right for a final level. I haven't reached the end in the Steam version, but I'm not looking forward to a cotton candy version. I wish you could select whether you want the original Meat Circus difficulty level, possibly with an achievement for finishing it. I recall Schafer himself saying "Even I couldn't press buttons that fast", but I dunno, maybe he has carpal tunnel or something...

I remember playing through the Meat Circus back on the PS2 version way back when. I can't believe they nerfed it...Sure, it was certainly too hard for a while, but after some training I was able to beat it and my friend who also had the game had no trouble at all. So why did they nerf it? It was just right... And for the record, Tim Schafer doesn't have carpal tunnel.

I'm stuck on Meat Circus atm. Can't get past the acrobatics sequence.

♥♥♥♥ing impossible with mouse & keyboard.

They Nerfed the last stage? what did they do to it? I have played both retail Xbox version and just recently beat the Steam version. and it has been quite awhile but i didnt notice anything different.

I never read what they actually did, and I still haven't gotten to it myself. (Oh, midterms) Has anyone actually gotten there in both versions and noticed something different?
And yeah, I've played pc version both times, but used a controller both times. For this kind of game it's just so much better than m+kb.

I beat Meat Circus on my PS2 years ago with ease, but using my mouse and keyboard I cannot for the life of me make all the jumps on the broken helix in the Acrobat Tent. I'm tempted to start up my PS2 just to check if my double jump is broken or what over here...

I have no issues on either, i did however think it was easyier on pc, but that is because i am so much better now than i was when i first played. Come on guys, were older, it's not nerfed. Ps. I had the PS2 version.

No, really, Tim Schafer said they nerfed it because he personally thought it was too hard in the original retail release; I asked this question before even getting to it in the supposedly nerfed version. I got to it and beat it recently, and the only thing I noticed that I thought might have been changed was during the acrobatics part with green dad, the spinning wheel already had 3 knives on it rather than you having to lure a knife thrower yourself. Maybe it was that way in the original, I don't remember. If anyone can conclusively state what was changed, feel free to jot it down here.
It was never very hard. Psychonauts is not a hard game. But I'm glad to see that they didn't make it too much easier.

It was just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fine where it was, I agree. The safety net is very annoying, too.

I played the crap out of the retail version and got goodish at that level... but that was a while ago so i don't really notice anything different. as a kid i always thought that the first part of the level where you protect him was the hardest part in the game. but now if feels easy but it also feels easy on the other version now as well. nerf or lots of practice... mind blown.

Well thinking about the stage, i was thinking that they may have changed the part where the dream dad throws the jugling things while you are on the tightropes. I am not at all sure, but it seemed like he threw less in the PC version.

I'm probably just stupid or something, But i don't remember the tunnel of love.

For anybody having trouble with the second knife thrower- just remember to use your levitation glide after you jump. Yup.

In the original meat circus you would loose a life if you fell into the rising water. Now you no longer loose a life. I think that's the only thing that was changed but I can't be sure.

they made last level easier? Wow it wasnt THAT hard.

I think it's because this is PC. Console gamers aren't very used to PC gaming, so they had to make it a little easier to play.
