Sequel!
Okay, I'm in love with this game. It's so great. Am I the only one hoping Double Fine took up Notch's offer for the funds for a sequel? If so, what do you think will happen?

EASY! It will easily be hailed as one of the greatest game of all time. (Loves of the original will love it, mincecraft/notch followers will love it, and every 10 year old who plays minecraft will love it) ;)

I don't think Double Fine is using the Kickstarter money to create Psychonauts II. If I remember correctly, I think they are creating a point and click adventure (Grim Fandango, Day of the Tenticle sort of thing)

Though personally I wish they were making Psychonauts II.

Notch was just joking about that, unfortunately.

Don't trust Notch.

They're focusing on "smaller" games like Stacking and Costume Quest now. They're well received in public and Psychonauts hasn't got much attention when it was released... sadly. I just hope they'll consider working on some game awesome as Psychonauts.

I actually contacted Tim Schafer himself about 2 years ago (I wont say how) and he said he personally would LOVE to do a Psychonauts 2. It was just a matter of finding a publisher that would front the money for development. Since BudCat is gone now, that's quite hard. Hopefully though Tim and his boys at DoubleFine will be getting mucho dinero from their new game and all these Psychonaut steam sales to be able to make the second one. I've been waiting since 2005 for a sequel, and I will pay any amount of money to get it. @_@

That's because Double Fine makes extremely high quality games that do not sell well. If they ask "x" amount of money for a game that may or may not sell well, then the publishers will be forced to decline. The bottom line is always money. Smaller games require less money, which is probably why they're sticking with that method.

A sequel would be awesome, although I doubt it will happen soon. Trust me, if I ever won Powerball or inherited a fortune, I would invest in it.

At least Tim Schafer is eager to continue Psychonauts. You could even tell he wanted to with how the game ended so open. The gaming industry doesn't seem to give a crap in any way. Also off subject it WOULD be nice to see Grim Fandango on steam.
