Crash with Linux
Hello,

after I received the permission and would like to enter Saschas brain the game crashes. What is wrong?

OS is Kubuntu 13.04, 64-Bit with NVIDIA GTX 650TI, 8GB Ram, AMD Athlon II X3 435.

Howdy. There can be numerous reasons for crashes. The first things to do are update system drivers, verify the game cache, or reinstall the game. After that, toggle off graphic settings and see if that allows you to proceed. If none of these works, let me know.

many thanks for the fast reply. I turned all options off and updated the drivers. The game is freshed installed but nothing works.
Can I get a log or console output somehow?

You can if you start Steam from the command line. E,g, "steam | tee -a output.log" to output both to console and a log file.

Thanks for the log. I'll send this along and see if one of our engineers can get some info from it.
Same Problem here. Using NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-304.88 driver and Ubuntu 12.04...


I used the German version. After changing the Language to English it works again. It seems that there are missing translations for some cutscenes (see http://steamcommunity.com/app/3830/discussions/0/864975249412768282/)

Hello, just bought Psychonauts and I've exactly the same bug before entering Sasha's brain.

I tried this and it worked.
Go where Psychonauts is installed.
cd ~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Psychonauts/WorkResource/cutscenes/prerendered
Then do
for f in ./*; do ln -s "$f" "$(echo $f | tr '[:upper:]' '[:lower:]')"; done
Dear developers, I have one simple question:



WHY DON'T YOU FIX THIS STUPID BUG WHICH HAS BEEN A KNOWN BUG ON ALL LINUX MACHINES WITH A LOCALIZED LANGUAGE SETTING SINCE 2 YEARS (AT LEAST) ????


The only thing you have to do is to rename all files in the cutscenes folder from uppercase filenames to lowercase filenames. I have done that on my system as suggested by the previous poster and now everything is fine (if not double-fine). Why aren't you able to do such a minor, simple, little bugfix and upload it into the steam cloud???
