Keeps on crashing please help!

I will click to play this game and the second it attemps to load it up I am left wiht a black screen and the whole computer is froze, just a black screen. I have re installed it but nothing works?!?!? Help is grately apreciated!

Try to verify the files with steam as had same problem and now just crashes regurly instead of insitanisoisly

I did this but it say '1 file missing' or something like that? Is there anything I can do? Thanks.

Playing in Windows 95 compatibility mode is a common fix as well.

I ahd a look and nothing is working... as soon as I click play the screen goes black and my whole computer is froze... Feels like a real waste of £6 since I've not even been able to load the game up yet...
