Psyhonauts 2, make it a thing
Is it weird that litterally 5 minutes after beating the game I want a sequel and feel bad because it may never happen any time soon?

I want a character as equally awesome as Raz and a few new PSI powers. Plus a new overworld would be nice.

The make cliffhanger on the end of game so one day maybe......
Come one Tim if you read this tell us what are you plans?

I think that a sequel that takes place directly after the first one would be perfect. Raz is now a Psychonaut, he helps the others save Mr. Zanotto. He learns some new, advanced PSI Powers along the way as well.

One thing I would LOVE to see is control of other characters, such as Sasha and Milla. Like, Sasha could be very powerful at combat, Milla could be extremely agile and have a high levitation jump height, and so forth.

Whatever the case though, I really hope some sort of sequel will come out one day. As long as they keep the same elements of the original, and then some, I'm sure it'll be a great game, and hopefully improve the popularity of the first as well.

Yeah, I would love stuff like that! I've also thought that Sasha would play like a tank and Milla would play like an agile, fragile speedster.

As for the sequel actually ever happening, Tim has stated that the series was meant to be a trilogy and he really wants to make Psychonauts 2, but the budget would have to be around 40 million dollars, and Double Fine just can't get that kind of money right now, even with crowdfunding. But we can always keep our fingers crossed, can't we?

I love this game, and it is one of my favorites of all time. However, I'm somewhat leary of a sequel. See, I'm one of those who thinks that properties that reach cult status - Psychonauts, Star Wars, Firefly, Star Trek, etc - often have their greatest value remaining a cult favorite, and often sequels or rebirths are just ways to profit off of that cult status, and most of the time that new version often falls short of the whatever made the origianl a favorite in the first place.

You can all likely think of an example of each. Yes, I liked Serenity. Yes, I liked the Star Trek reboot (but not the Wrath of Khan ripoff). But look at the other side of the coin. The Star Wars prequels sucked and definitely tarnish the original trilogy. Indy Jones IV almost did the same.

No matter much faith I have in Tim Schafer and Double Fine, I feel like at this point a sequel wouldn't live up to the original Psychonauts. I prefer to leave the game's status right where it is - as a special game that - let's face it, not everyone appreciates - holds a special place in my memory.

Just finished. It's a damn shame this game doesn't have a sequel.

Game is to good for a sequal. Besides, Double Fine can't handle money well and make a game that is up to par with Psychonauts.

In other words, it is a one time thing.

I thought the number was 18 million dollars. Still, be it 40 or 18 million, that kind of money is hard to get. Could you provide a link to where Tim talks about this? Not because I want to prove myself right or wrong, but because I'm interested. I haven't seen much official talk about Psychonauts sequel, just a few words in the Reddit AMA Tim did around Double Fine Bundle.

Double Fine said that psychonauts 2 would cost 18 million dollars if i remember correctly
GinKadia 31 Ago, 2013 às 20:03
18 million dollars you say? Who wants to start up the Kickstarter page?

You can count me in too. :)

I found myself really wanting a sequel before it had even ended. They very obviously left it open for one. I would also love to see Sasha and Milla be playable characters, though I'd like to see Lili take part in the action this time as well. I wouldn't mind Ford either, though I imagine he'd be playing a supporting role again.

Years may have already passed with no news, but I'll be keeping my fingers crossed in the future!

Honestly I would love a great Single Player game focusing on Raz like the first one was... but if they want to make make a wonderful Co-Op mode where you play as Raz & Lili or Sasha & Milla then I would be down with that as well. (Please make it split-screen/online though because I hate it when you're bound to each other on a single screen)
