raz stuck running

I played through a few hours of the game with no issues aside from occasional crashes while loading levels - but just recently, whenever I start the game, the movement is glitched out. Raz runs up the to the left forever - no mouse movement, controller input, or keyboard presses will stop him. He just runs in that direction. I can jump and attack and use other functions though.

I tried recalibrating the controller (wired xbox 360) and even just unplugging it, but it keeps happening, so that's not the problem - and besides, like I said, I played through a bunch of the game already without any issues.

What's going on? Why did it suddenly stop working?

oh wait, I feel slightly stupid - I changed it to use windows 95 compatibility mode to avoid the crash during level loading issue, but apparently that created the new problem. so either I get a game that crashes constantly, or a game that is unplayable. I guess I have to settle for the former huh.

What have you installed in between the game working and it not working? Did you update any drivers or anything of that nature?

Also, while I doubt there will be a difference, have you tried seeing if the same thing happens on a new game? I highly doubt the issue would be fixed on a new save, but it never hurts to try I guess?

I mean probably - windows and nvidia and steam all download and install updates pretty much weekly if not more often at this point, it seems like. Whatever, I'll come back and take another look later. I hate to be dismissive but I have like a jillion other games that I don't need to spend any time making work I could be playing. :]
