What really ticks me off in particular is the fact the button impedes your movement. I can live with the camera is garbage but if you are at the phase where all the targets are in the middle, if you move off the button you've probably lost any chance you had.

If you have controller - plug it. But anyway this mini-game is pretty simple. If you continuously fail at it, that just means that you lack required skill level. Game is gonna be tough for you down the line.

Biggest pile of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ anyone has said on this forum. No other part of the game requires anything close to the precision it takes to get the last two levels of the punching game for the achievement. And a garbage camera has absolutely nothing to do with skill.

If you've got a pad, this is very easy. I did it only having to retry on the final round a couple of times. Once they start appearing exclusively in the inner circle, you can reach them all from the center button.

I have little trouble with any of Psychonauts by now, but this challenge with a keyboard was a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ nightmare. But you can't really blame the devs, optimizing achievements for two completely different control sets has to be a nightmare.

Being exclusively keyboard playing in this day and age is fast-becoming a handicap. Some games (3rd person, especially platofrmers) work far better with a gamepad, and others (basically everything else) work better with keyboard/mouse.

The official microsoft x360 Windows pad is essential for a modern PC gamer. Only hubris or a lack of thumbs should stop you buying one.

I still like to imagine that the reason for the punching minigame is because someone at Double Fine saw that there were only 99 rank ups-even though it starts at 1, so 99 rank ups would be enough for rank 100-and panicked. I would imagine that that might be why the achievement for reaching rank 101 is called "Math is Hard".

I found it very easy using the wireless 360 controller (with USB receiver), got the achievement on my 3rd try on the final 'hardest' setting.

I guess I can see how it would be harder with a keyboard since there are only 4 directions... is it harder to turn and aim with 4 movement keys?
