Mac version twice as big as it needs to be?

After downloading Psychonauts on my Mac, if I "Browse local files..." I see "Psychonauts.app" and also "Psychonauts.app - Copy", which appears to be the same size. It looks like a copy of the app ended up in the Steam download, which means it's 11 GB instead of 5.5 GB.

I have already notified Double Fine about this. I even created a topic here and on their forums.

You can move/delete the copy and the game still works fine. Although if you try to verify the download it will claim it has an error, until you move it back in.
