BUG - Gamepad disables Mouse Camera
I understand that I'm in the rarity here. Most people think that either Mouse and Keyboard are the be all and end all to any game on a PC, or that the only way a game should be played is with a gamepad.

I agree that some games work better with a gamepad, but I entirely disagree that a choice needs to be made between the two of them. I use both. I use a gamepad in my left hand for analog movement, and my right hand has a razer imperator (a deathadder, or ANY 5+ button mouse will usually work just as well)

So it's extremely frustrating that when I plug in a gamepad, psychonauts seems to believe that my mouse is completely superfluous to the movement of the camera. It's even more frustrating when I consider the fact that I played (and beat) Psychonauts WAAAAAY back before it was ever released on steam, and I never had any problems mixing controls.

This is NOT an issue with Vsync - That had caused a problem using my mouse on the menus, but I've since turned it off and have no problems in that aspect. The mouse IS being recognized, just NOT for camera.

This is NOT an issue with Smart camera or altitude dampening - both features have been enabled and disabled without any affect.

This IS an issue with the gamepad being plugged in. I tried unplugging the gamepad before starting the game, and on this attempt, camera controls worked without issue. If I were willing to play using a keyboard, this would be fine. However I am not, thus it is not.

To restate; before the steam release, psychonauts was entirely playable using BOTH a gamepad AND a mouse. This is no longer the case. I would like to know why, and I would like to see this ability reenabled, or at least find some manual workaround, like setting the .ini file directly ( I tried, setting the controls as LookUp=MouseUP, but this seems to have been translated to JoyRX or somethign of that nature)

Getting the game to also accept mouse button 4 and mouse button 5 as legitimate inputs would also be nice, but it's not a problem the way the camera is.

Which gamepad are you using? I had a similiar problem with a wired logitech but it stopped when I switched to an xbox wireless controller. I agree btw - this game is much better with a gamepad.
I actually have a PS3 gamepad, but as far as the game is concerned, it's a 360 gamepad. The gampead by itself actually isn't that bad (though I haven't gotten into sections that require precision aiming yet) but I still miss mouse aiming.
