Problem with ending

What's good?

SPOILER ALERT:
I'm experiencing a weird problem. After I killed the last strider and the cool train ride with Alyx the credits appear. Yeah, I know that this is normal but it's not the actual problem... :)
After that, what should come is a trailer for Episode 2 but I only see a black screen and only hear everything of it.
After the trailer, hl2.exe CTDs and that's it.

I tried to ALT+Tab to the Desktop and see what happens when I switch back to HL2, a weird thing happens. I can now see the trailer but it's mirrored and turned 180°. It looks kinda cool but that's nothing I wanted to see!^^
Anyway, hl2.exe CTDs after that as well.

Anyone got a good idea what the cause to this problem could be?

My PC specs:
Windows 8 Pro 64-bit
Intel i7 3770k @ 3.5 GHz
ATI Radeon HD 6870 with 1GB RAM
16 GB RAM

same thing here, i have that same problem.
try adding this to the launch options -window -noborder
that didn't worked too well for me but probably it will work for you.

Hey, it actually worked! Thanks man for the trivial solution of which I never thought...
So now, why won't work it for you as well? That's odd! What happens when you do that?

well, the game kinda crashes i can still hear the sound of the video but can't see a thing.
but i guess is a video driver problem, i'm using old drivers because with newer nvidia drivers i can't play TF2.

Did you try out Gold's hints, yet? It worked all fine for me, disco player.
