Game sticks starting

game says its running but don't start nothing is showing up in the log. Initally I thought it was just takeing a long time to load so I tried starting it then going to bed but it was still not loaded when I got up this morning.

I am running windows 7 home permium with 64 bit operating system. I have tried a few times with mods, without mods now have just tried a uninstall reninstall will let you know if that changed things

ah ha got it run in folder from game folder as a admin has done the trick at least for me. hopefully this will help you with the steam start bug

Thanks, so far it's been only people on Windows 7. Did the game work previously for you (on other versions?) or was it newly purchased?

It involves:

1. Opening up your Wayward folder.
2. Opening up cmd, and setting the directory to the Wayward folder. (using cd path/to/folder)
3. Setting some values:

set ELECTRON_ENABLE_LOGGING=true
set ELECTRON_ENABLE_STACK_DUMPING=true

4. Running the game in this manner.
5. Copying the information from the cmd window for and pasting it to me.

I'm pressing enter after each line to "execute" the command as shown in the video.

Hopefully you can still get it to hang/not work in this manner. I'm looking for the information it gives when the game doesn't load, not when it does. In my window, it shows it loading fine.

I had the same issue. Browsing to the install directory and creating a shortcut to always run as administrator fixed it for me.

mine shows nothing for some reason game just hangs, like before doing the cmd thing :{ so I can't even paste you a log of some sort becouse nothing comes up at all

Win 7 here. Steam won't launch Wayward. It starts a process but no game and I have to kill from task manager. Launches fine directly from exe.

All you did in the video was mark "run as admin" right? This had no effect. Still borked on Steam. No issue from exe.

Another test for ya'll to try:

Open this link, and right click anywhere on the page and select "Save as" to save it to your computer. Replace the launch_options.json in your Wayward folder with this one and see if it runs for Steam, or at least gives some types of logs and/or errors.
