THE PRICE IS AN ATROCITY !
This pricing of this game makes absolutely no sense.
Lets look at the prices (of Deluxe edition) in some nations.

USA - 55 Euros (61 $)
Russia - 22 Euros (25 $) (3000 Rubles)
UK - 77 Euros (60 £)
Lithuania - 85 Euros (WHAT ?!)

Why is the price so high for Lithuanians ?
Ok. Lets look at the average monthly incomes now.

USA - 2550 Euros (2841 $)
Russia - 335 Euros (373 $)
UK - 2337 Euros (1820 £)
Lithuania - 589 Euros

The price in Lithuania should be closer to that of in Russia.
Not only that but Lithuania has a lot of video game piracy going on.
I am not an economist but I dont think that you combat piracy by raising the prices ...

(Edit: got the UK price wrong...)
(Edit2 : Oh wait ... It was actually correct)

Turkey 's price is 60 dollar. Our price is expensive. Lithunia 's is epic... Sales policy very intresting. XCOM 2 is most expensive in Tukey now..

RegionalSteam pricing could be set by game publisher. May be they are trying to compensate for some sort of tax?

I can't believe that the average monthly income is anywhere close to the Baltic states in Switzerland.

Diffrent USD for one.

Developers set the cost on Steam. Steam doesn't have a say in the matter. They may suggest a price, but it is the developers who sets it.

Local stores also threated to stop carrying games if the price on Steam is less then that in the store.

There is also local laws to consider.

The issue isn't black and white. There is a lot more going on between you and Steam to make it cost that much.

Most people here don't even know what they are talking about because they don't think about it for 10 cent. In Europe, Games don't cost significantly more. Yes, they cost more than the direct € -> USD conversion, but that is because we pay VAT when purchasing and Americans don't.

That is where most of the additional cost come from.
Some Indiestores do a direct € -> USD conversion, but then you get VAT added on checkout and you see the difference directly.

Of course there is some bumping going on in favor of the publishers, but it is half as bad as people claim. Tax differences do play a big role here.

Lots of good information on that thread.

The cost is meaningless, anyone that cares about the cost will wait for the game to take a massive cost dive in a few months. Think this as more of a tax on those that need it now.

Gaben, pls stop these unfair pricings going on at some regions pls. Dont let some local distrubitors make extra money out of this. Let the gamers enjoy games and support the developers by fair pricings for regions / countries.

Sorry but it doesn't. It is really expensive especially taking into account our dire economic situation here....

Even 2000 would be expensive but somewhat bearable..
