Is there a way to get widescreen working?
For some reason I really like this game, it reminds me a lot of the Timesplitters games but sadly it sucks to have to play it in 4:3 resolutions. If anybody could figure out how to get the game working in real 16:9 widescreen, preferable 1920x1080, then I'll send you Far Cry 2 over Steam, it's a ROW gift, meaning it can be activated all over the world and it's 100% uncensored.

Only the 3D elements of the game have to be true widescreen, I don't care if the menus are stretched as long as the gameplay isn't.

Edit: Offer not available anymore, thread is 8 month old and I don't own the game anymore.

Some people say they have the option in graphics setting to run it 1440x1060. The highest I can see is 1280x960. It looks OK though. It scales to fill the screen. I have a thin black bar along the top and bottom of the screen so I loose a little there but it's OK.

I am hunting for the config file but can't find it. I thought I might be able to edit that. All I found when browsing is this page, and it doesn't support 1080p.

Btw I am OK for Far Cry. I don't need it. I know I haven't told you how to do 1080p either, but did my best.

Thanks for the response Tiny Trees. I totally forgot about this thread since it's 8 month old.

The highest I can do is 1600x1200, but that's not widescreen.

Ha. Wow. I didn't notice the thread was old. Lucky you anyway, because I only get 1280x960. (It seems other people get options in the vidoe options that I don't.)

Doesn't yours scale to fit the screen though? Mine does.

It doesn't scale to fit the screen for me, that's because of my nvidia control panel settings.

To be honest mine scaled and just looked like it was running normal full screen. It looked really good too. Similar thing happened when I re-played Halo 2 in 1280x1024 or whatever it was. I couldn't tell it wasn't as it was meant to be. No stretching.

I was once told it was because DVI monitor output digitally scales. However I have seen my PC scale on VGA also, a long time ago.

Anyway I finished the Dredd game, and I doubt very much I will play again. I played it years ago, so this was just for fun while it was £1 on the Black Friday sale. It was lots of fun too, a total blast really. (I was a 2000AD reader.)

Mine seems to be crashing every time I make a graphics option change from the default... strange. I'll see about reinstalling it again to see if that fixes it.
