Online Multiplayer Alpha
Hi! In the latest patch we introduced the Online Multiplayer Alpha. Right now the only two things you can do are either roll around in a hub, or play one of the few battle mode levels.

There's still quite a bit to do before we remove the "Alpha" tag from the mode. Here's a small list of the main stuff:

  • Improved ball synchronization/collision detection
  • Circuit race mode (with a few levels)
  • Level select at the end of levels (instead of going back to the hub)

Plus whatever fixes/improvements decide to happen. After that, we'll gradually add game modes and levels until we're satisfied for release, then probably some more after that.

Let's talk about the current state of online though. There's four battle levels, three hubs, three weapons, and six abilities. Things are pretty imbalanced but still pretty fun.

We're aware of the desynchronizing of balls, which can be really bad, so we won't be looking for feedback on that just yet. Hopefully it's not too bad and you guys will be able to have feedback on everything else.

Tell us what abilities and weapons you find fun, or bad, or too OP. Let us know which levels you like or hate. We're having fun playing battle mode so hopefully some people will share that opinion too.

Thank you for finally releasing it! Ive been waiting for play with a friend of mine and with the game in the bundle I can get others to get it as well. Hope it goes well for you guys :)

Thanks! That bundle is bringing a lot a players, we're pumped.

We just did some playtesting and found some pretty bad bugs already, so we decided we'd do a hotfix tonight or tomorrow. There's one bug where if someone joins a hub with someone with a weapon in it, the player who joined will freeze up. That's the major one we'll be fixing, so try to avoid it for now (by having no one pick up weapons until no one else is going to join).

This is kind of a random request, but can you make a multiplayer mode where you just try to ram each other off of a map full of narrow ledges? I got this game from the indiegala bundle b/c it reminded me of an indie game on Xbox360 called Knock Balls Spin To Win. That game was seriously fun and silly.

We will keep this in mind when designing some levels/modes! A battle map without weapons or abilities might work.
