How is this an indie game when there is a publisher?
It doesn't seem like they are independent. I wondered the same thing with Shank.

I see no different publishers than the developers on their store pages (i.e. they self-published / are independent/indie):

Developer: Frozenbyte
Publisher: Frozenbyte

Developer: Klei Entertainment
Publisher: Klei Entertainment

Anyway, if there was a different publisher than developer, then the game could be still indie if it was first created by an independent studio with their own ideas and then it has been taken to a publisher.

Shank was published by EA wasn't it? Heck there is a giant EA logo when you start the game.

Trine was published by a few: Publisher(s) Nobilis (worldwide)
SouthPeak Interactive (North American retail)
Loaded (Argentina)

Some of the programming was outsourced according to the credits, the additional programming IGIOS Ltd. Thus making them not independent. Maybe I just don't know what indie means.
