PETITION: "Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds Remake"

In November 2021 it will be 20 years since the original game was released. It's been 5 years since the game was released on Steam, but there have been no updates since then other than minor bugfixes.
In the meantime, important innovations have arrived both for the Star Wars videogame universe and for that of RTS in general. Under the leadership of the new Lucasfilm Games, new studios beyond those of EA will deal with the development of videogames related to the Star Wars and Indiana Jones franchises.
In addition, the “Definitive editions” of the three main chapters of the Age of Empires saga have been released, developed by Forgotten Empires and Tantalus Media.

So far we have made our point, but now is the right time to make the noise! The time for a simple HD remastered for Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds is over. Now it's time for a full remake! Therefore we ask:
- New graphics, 4K resolution support, remastered sounds;
- New campaigns, civilizations, units and soundtrack pieces from the new movies and series, but also from comics, books and other video games belonging to the new canon;
- Full localization support (Interface + Voices + Subtitles) for all languages featured in the original 2001 game, but also for new languages;
- A redesigned multiplayer system;
- Game balance fixes in general;
- Steam Workshop support + badges + achievements;
- Any other improvements that can help build the definitive game experience.

Our favourite Star Wars RTS is back and now is time to make its brights brighter.
So, we ask:
- Full support for widescreen, HD resolution, and multiplayer restore just like Age of Empires II HD;
- Bug fix;
- Reintroduce italian language support (it was supported by the original game in 2001);
- Possibility to choose which version, standard or clone campaigns, you want to play;
- Of course, Steam Workshop support + badges + achievements.

Just want to point out that the multiplayer community who has stuck with playing this game after msn gaming zone shut down plays on voobly (see voobly.com). A lot of the things you asked to be addressed have been fixed by the voobly developers, namely widescreen support, color fixes, multiplayer restore, and then other multiplayer options as well like a rating system for rated games and mirror random civs.

Disney owns Star Wars and all of its games now.

You know, Disney that signed an exclusive deal with EA to make all future Star Wars games.

Disney, who does not give a ♥♥♥♥ about PC (consoles either) and thinks all the money lays with mobiles.

This Disney barely even knows this game exists.

Definatly agree with this, With AOE 2, AOM and RON getting HD upgrades using pretty much the same engine as this, they can do it, rather then releasing broken crap.

While they are at it, they could do DLCs too like the above titles, Some Revenge of the Sith and The Force Awakens Packs, don't be cheap and lazy Disney, people WILL buy a HD version and DLC.

to be honest i cant see why they didn't just port the assets into the AOEIIHD engine and sell that

with microsoft's permission of course
