Is Rising Storm a different game? Did I waste my money?
I just bought Red Orchestra 2 thinking Id have fun, but NO theres absolutely no one online. So did I just waste my money when actually everyones playing the Rising Storm version? Then know what else is confusing is the Red Orchestra 2 multiplayer game in my steam library says Rising Sun/RO2 multiplayer, even though I searched RS in the store to find it was a game I didnt own.

If you don't see any server (you should be able to see and play on RS and RO2 server)

It's an expansion to RO2. Both games are being played on populated servers just as equally.

Something ain't right if you're not finding any populated servers. There's usually at least two servers at full or near full capacity if I play in the evening (East Coast). Rising Storm was originally a mod based from RO2 but Tripwire ended up publishing it. So Rising Storm is a different game, in a way. It uses some stuff from RO2 and a lot of new stuff but in order to play Rising Sun you need the whole RO2 package. That's why you just got RO2 but it says Rising Storm too as it's basically two games running the same client. You should be able to connect to Rising Storm servers also, but you'll be limited to the rifleman and you won't earn experience. Rising Storm is more fast-paced IMO. It will give you a good enough idea if it's something you want to buy. TWI usually has huge discounts on their library when the seasonal Steam sales go out. So if you aren't sure about RS but do want to get it at some point then that would be your best bet for something like 66% or 75% off.

Maybe you should buy Rising Storm at first, because the Red Orchestra 2 and Mutiplayer would be free.

The one thing tripwire is bad at is making server browsers. If they would update their server browsers in killing floor and RO2 there would be a lot less frustration.

Both were built on the Unreal engine... Food for thought.
