Woops, guess I misread your post then. Still, I really recommend you avoid that atrocity.
Fire Emblem actually has good gameplay and excellent characterization though(well, Awakening is a downgrade compared to the previous ones, but it's still good). Agarest only has fanservice in the form of scantily clad girls CGs. The gameplay is so awful, you'll get bored within 2 hours. It is extremely repetitive, the cool looking attacks get old quick because you have to spam the hell out of them later on and the skill system is convoluted and confusing.
The story is very generic, the characterization pretty much nonexistant and most characters are very boring and unlikable (IMHO).
You're free to buy the game if you really think you'll enjoy it but keep in mind that it doesn't even come close to Fire Emblem in any way.
Honestly, anything is better than Agarest.
