Windows 8 <---- Thats my guess. Well saying is badly optimized would be wrong terms here. BUT it could be you have a combo of hardware that does not get along so great. BUt it sounds like it is attempting to load textures and SOMETHING is going not so right. Does it do it with BOTH RS and RO2? Is it WORSE in RS? IS it the same under all conditions? Perhaps page file is too small? Ok I really do not have an answer/....... So I blame windows 8 in SOME way.

horrible RAM speed <- stuttering when moving/looking around/running around etc
If you can get atleast 1333Mhz, for now I'd overclock it.

set the speed manually in your BIOS.

I would mess around with your page file or even try turning it off.. usually aa bad idea but SOMETIMES does the reverse. This really does not take THAT much cpu power.

Think something somewhere is being stilly on loading the files. Is it deticated ram or system ram? THere HAS to be a way to tweak it. With what you describe it sounds like it is reading textures of the HD. Which would do this. with 8gb turn off the page file and see. It will be forced to use system ram...MUCH faster. IF thats it.

Iv had the issue sense the release of RO2 with my old rig and my new build. I have come across lots of posts about it and tried starting forums posts about it only to have them locked and forgot about. Im guessing it is poorly optimized and they ether cant fix it or refuse to acknowledge the issue for some users :( Iv tried everything with no luck new OS's new HD's completely new hardware nothing has fixed or changed it. Also I have no issues with any other games.

Because this is an older version o f UE3 being used, it can't use all cores the same way games on newer engines can. It uses one core for all the main heavy lifting and the rest for smaller tasks. However, you should not be getting a low framerate like that so that's very odd. Have you tried disabling phsyics hardware in the graphics options?
Moskeeto 24. aug. 2013 kl. 11.21
Yeah, that most definitely shouldn't be happening.
Try this console command while in game:
umbra culling

Glad someone finally added 'solved' in their heading to help other people.

Geee that is good. I knew your puter should run this. It really does not take a damned super computer to run RO2...
May i ask what exactly "umbra culling" command is doing?

regards
ou lol nice to know thanks for the info. I have this stutter/lags too btw when i runs forward especially and my pc should run this game easily. Very strange.

lol

Windows 8 has nothing to do with it. Hopefully, by now, you will stop putting blame onto Windows 8 for many game issues.

I have kinda his same setup, but I have 16gigs of RAM and an i7...
I have no stutter issues at all at 1920x1080 res...
When youre running forward there is never a small lag (not even one second) nothing?

No...
Appears smooth to me. Like a normal FPS.

What kind of hard drive are you using and how old is it?
I'm using a normal ol hard drive, but it's "new" 1.5 years old...

well you can see it on my profile. Samsung SSD and i have 2 of them one max 4-5-6 month old the newer one is 1 month old. But im playng with 4xMSAA/4xSGSSAA maybe this is the reason for the small lags. I will turn it of in NvidiaInspector and test it again maybe then the lags will be gone.
