Ruined the aiming?
Haven't played RO2 in ages, so i decided to log on today and what i see is some generic ♥♥♥♥ing modern fps shooting mechanic with crosshairs and what not. How do you get back the old aiming style? And how ♥♥♥♥ing stoned do you have to be to develop this in the first place.

Cheers.

Is it just me though, or are there barely any RO2 (non rising storm) servers running realism?

Alright thanks for the help guys.

Also i noticed they even have much decreased damage on action now.

Next update: Steam store updated to - "If you liked the Call of Duty and Battlefield franchises, this game is for you! Now with tactical insertions"
Kraft Jul 13, 2013 @ 12:06pm
there are around 17 server with +15 guys on it... 15 are realism...and 2 are useing action mode.. sadly no classic server.
So it'd rather be:
"If you liked the "between ArmA and BF Hardcore mode" stuff, this game is for you! Now with arcade insertions to satisfy the noobs that flame the Steam hub with "gam sux i always die! and so boring -.-""

Isn't it stupid that they have to do that ♥♥♥♥ because too many people give their 12 year olds too much internet access? They shouldn't be doing it because it would just allow the rushy noob players to add themselves to the community. Basically like what DayZ did to Arma, only here the developers themselves choose for it to happen.

Classic died an a vast amount of the player base went to action
Realism is still around and alive though

In this case there's probably no pleasing everyone. Personally, though, I think this is a good compromise. For people who are (too) used to arcade-style gameplay à la CoD, the jump is less severe to the semi-realistic mechanics explored in HoS (and Rising Storm).

Action functions as a middle ground for them to get their feet wet. When they get used to the different standards, they can graduate to realism. Or they can just stick to action, if they so choose.

After all, without this distinction, there would be no alternative for people who join realism servers and try to "run and gun" as if they're in an arcade shooter. This way, they can have their own separate section, and people who want to play realism don't have to contend with them - not too often, anyway.

I do not comprehend how anyone could go from Classic... to Action... -- It should be Realism and Classic.
Kraft Jul 13, 2013 @ 2:20pm
its good that we have the action mode.. otherwise they would run around in realism server.
And Bohemia supported dayz, with knowledge... and they hired him.

I honestly think they should be thrown into the real deal instantly. They will learn from their deaths and after only 2 rounds they'll check the corners like a trained SWAT operative.
Making part of the game action-driven wouldn't really be a great introduction, as it would be too familiar and the real thing (realism) would be considered way too hard and just overly hardcore.
I get where you're coming from though.
