WARNING, new players: DO NOT join 64 players
...the developer of this game, forced the 64 playercount to give an argument to sell the game.
Needless to say, nearly all of the maps were never made for 64 players! Prepare to get meatgrinded in a senseless, dumb manner on many maps.

Dont even try rising storm with 64 players. Youll get stuttering, more lag and no flanking oppurtunities since the maps are so small (and were never made for 64 players in the first place).

For example, take a look at the BF2 maps, 64 players and BIG. Not at all like the RO2/RS maps where every1 gets meatgrinded. FUN!

Even RO1 had alot bigger maps for the 50p max limit.

In conclusion: avoid the 64 playerservers, since it will probably ruin your game-experience, unless you really love BF3's metro to meatgrind points...

BF2 needed those big maps because it had a strong Vehicle focus which isn't the case with RS.

I can't speak for anyone on the stuttering and lag matter [so i can't say they don't exists at all],however,i never had any issues and since i only play 64p Servers since beta i guess it depends on each individual machine.

Chokepoints are there,flanking is limited due to the stupid "u out of coampat zoane! go bak! go bak!" timer but even if it reminds on OpMetro,it isn't as bad.

People shouldn't buy this game before checking Gameplay videos etc. since this is not a regular "run&gun" shooter that appeals to the masses

There is pretty much no stuttering and lag if your internet connection and hardware are sufficient, and if you are playing on a decent server.

I have to agree however, that on SOME maps, there is indeed a lack of flanking opportunities [not on all maps], and it has a decent reason.
I would guess it is to promote more teamwork, and provide a fitting environment for new features, such as flamethrower and banzai charges.

If you ask me, I still prefer RO2:HoS, and wasnt really impressed with Rising Storm neither.

Stuttering does exist. I get it every time I play this game no matter if there are 64 players or 40 players. Its like runs 25 yards notch, run another 25 yards notch, aim over cover notch, sit still and watch the battle from camp site, smooth as butter.

64 Slots? No Prob in here - feels like War. 40 Slots is more tactical.

no probs here either, a team still needs to communicate and be tactical to win whenever they dont i always see them lose, tho sometimes a team is just simply better.

No problem with 64 players, no stuttering, no lag (as long as I stay under a 250 ping rate--which these days, thanks to adding RS has been easy to do).

I know it's impossible, but I really wish I could get my coin back for this one. First thing I have bought on steam that I truly regret.

Getting caught on invisible walls, graphic flickering and shoddy at best hit detection. /sigh

Been playing RO since the original, always with 64 players because that's how the game was designed. Please don't spread misinformation. If you have stuttering and lag, it's your computer. If you wan't to take a look at a game that wasn't designed for 64 players, then take a look at Call of Duty 4.

I actually like 64 player maps, the cluster♥♥♥♥ is intense and awesome.

I like 64 players. It can be quite intense, though I prefer it on maps like Pavlov's 40 or more players is a happy amount.

64 playesr is nice. Gives about a platoon sized force to each sides wich I feel is just perfect for those maps. There's action everywhere in the map so it's not always a big giant meatgrinder in the middle

I agree. The only map I would rather see with less than 64 players is Apartments. All the bespoke RO2 maps are designed for and work with 64 players.
