Flamethrower Underpowered
Hi all,

I've been playing Rising Storm since beta release and in my humble opinion the flamethrower is very underpowered.

A man with a flamethrower should...:
1.- Be faster since he has flames coming out his back end.
2.- Have a bigger range like at least 60m, and should be able to destroy a whole house.
3.- Its Flame should kill you quicker. I mean come on, the guy just had all the O2 sucked out of his lungs.
4.- Be less visible. It is hard to play as the flamethrower when everyone is shooting at you.
*5.- I forgot to mention, that the flamethrower guy should have special plate armor to protect him from bullets as he moves.
6. Also, your charachter should be screaming while killing japs.

It's really annoying to play as a flamethrower. The Axis has knee mortars and banzai charges, and they keep killing me because I can't see those jap ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥s. Those sniper rifles also really hurt. In addition, the Axis are always crying like little communist girls, and they should be punished for this.

I wish you update this with a patch as soon as possible

well i think for realism its perfect as is and for action needs changed and also falmethrowers shouldnt be faster since the damn ♥♥♥♥ weighs so much

I don't think he is, considering that anything within a certain distance of you is toast.

Actually, i think the flamer should be less lethal, unless your hit directly in the face (and you dont cover up with your arms) it should not take you down instantly, thus giving a chance for the japanase soldier to hug a enemy and try to take him down with him.

4 How exacly do you want to be less visible? Your carrying a fuel storage in your back, thats the downside of being the flamer, your a target of oportunity.

5 As far as i know, troops that used the flamethrower did not had any armor in real life and even if they did, it would be conflicting with your Number 1 request, since armor would surely slow you down.

Not gonna comment on 6, also i find your "the Axis are always crying like little communist girls" quite racist against the japanese, what exacly do want to imply?

Honestly, the flamethrower is quite powerful as it is, if your having a problem with it, its either you or your team.

Flamethrower, if anything, needs to be changed.

1. It can hit and instantkill players, even if the flames don't even touch them. I've seen flamethrowers being used uphill (i.e. guadacanal) and people behind the hill were killed even though flames pass ABOVE them and not even hitting them (and no, the flames didn't hit a tree or similar to make them change direction).

2. Flamethrower shouldn't instantkill. People hit by flames should still have a second or two to actually fire off a shot or similar. Very often while charging with bayonette the flames barely touch you and then instantkill you.. even if you are right in the face of the enemy and about to release the stab.

Sure, flamethrowers do need to be effective due to their reduced movement speed, larger profile due to the tank and the relatively short range.

However, in current form they are too effective, especially due to the above two reasons.

Yeah, nice troll post. FT is ok but could be a little "clunkier" in its operations. It feels way to smooth and easy to operate. I recommend people to try out the COD4 FT and compare the feeling to it. I liked the COD4 FT better tbh.

lol, well at least someone got it. I just got tired seeing all the 'flamethrowers are so overpowered' threads. Amazed at how many people gave me a serious reply though.

Please watch Iron Man for historical reference on the armored flame throwers. That guy can go fast as ♥♥♥♥!

After playing the game for a number of hours I have concluded that the Flamethrower is a Flamethrower.

1. Flames passing above a player would catch someone in real life as the napalm rains down on them.

2.The dev has stated several times that death isn't really death but the point when you become combat ineffective is when you die. I can catch on fire for like 2 seconds then you die in this game even though you're not really dead IRL you would be rolling on the ground and combat ineffective.
