You probably tried joining the RGN server. They have a mutator that doesn't allow for exploits such as really low foliage settings. They prefer people to be on an even ground, even if that means kicking those that can't run the game at higher settings.

all yea it was all i know is i log in and some guy starts yelling after some check thing.. but since when is low settings an "expoit" shouldn't that be something they say on server join? PS if you have the video quality set to default low.... we consider that an exploit?
thank you for your post though makes much more sense then just getting kicked without any resons given besides "your hacking"

I hate it when you go on a site and they have all these made up rules that just kill the game!
Such as in RO1, No Arty allowed, or the spawn killing thing when the guys in that spawn are killing you from there!1
Too many rules that make the site boring.

they at least need to post the "rules" on server join or something. but all the rules are just hidden. How am i supposed to know what default graphical settings are "cheating" and which ones arn't? OH i know when i join the server.... but oh well its just 1 server/person ive had a problem with.175+ hours logged so. They arn't the only server with no bots LOL

KC...I was playing when u got kicked. All you had to do was to turn up your settings and that was it and you would have been able to play all night. MANY players are turning off things like foilage and turning down their settings way low in order to gain an advantage...Imagine playing Bridges of Druzhina and you think you are being hidden by grass when in fact other players can see you due to their exploit. Ive seen you play many times on that server with no problem. All you had to do is turn your settings up. So the answer to your queston is an emphatic "YES"...playing on lowest settings will get you kicked.

KC...you know what settings were considered cheating because the admin read off all of the settings that were set to low(pretty much all of them) and asked you to turn them up. Sorry that you had a bad experience, but once again, all you had to do was turn your setting up. I for one, enjoy playing on an even playing field. Hope to see you with those settings turned up. Its a fun server with alot of cool custom maps.

So now having a lower end computer is cheating? There's no even playing field when someone has a low frame rate because they were forced to increase their graphics settings.
I can hardly run some of my games on lowest, it does not give any sort of an advantage.

thank you for your reply. And yes im sorry ive had a negative experience too. I dont cheat i dont "exploit" i dont hack. i use game defaults and i play the game. The way i was "told" ie ( screamin mike listing off a bunch of ♥♥♥♥ i dont even know) was not in a friendly or adult manor at all. i set the default to low. how the hell am i supposed to know what settings it sends to a server. If i was asked to turn up my settings and explained why having my game to default "low" was a explit then maybe i would have stayed around to listen. but all i got was yelling and "proof:" of my "hacking" and "found evidence" for me having highscores alot. i get good scores on every server i play on. not 1 time have i ever had so much grief and ♥♥♥♥♥ing. IF i return to play on RGN with a "approved" graphic settings Then i would expect to have no grief. but sadly i dont feel like that will happen. What will happen is ill be playing with "approved" graphics ill shoot mike once. and hell rage and complain over all talk. then ill shoot him again becuase hes always sitting in the same spot and then ill get kicked. this has happend far to many times. and yes all my settings were to low they have been on low since i installed the game 170+ hours ago.. not one time did i hear about graphics being used as an exploit UNTILL mike started screaming out my settings 1 by 1 in all talk and how "we had words about this".

you know, I understand the reasoning, I truly do, but to punish players who legitimately can't run the game at higher settings seems a little excessive, especially in a game who's online community is not as large as other titles. I do get the fact that someone who can run the game at full settings, such as myself, but chooses low settings for an advantage is gamey and exploitative, but there are players who simply can't do it because their game would run like absolute crap, if at all. Should they really be punished for it? Just my two cents, it has no bearing on me personally.

I always play multiplayer games on the lowest gfx settings.

Anyways, I like the RGN mutator idea....putting everyone on an equal ground gfx wise.

yea its a nice idea but it isnt a tourny.. and if the way they told people was in a nice way or even an adult educated way would be fine.

well said. such sentiment can be applied to many issues concerning an online gaming community...

I would use another word than "explot" because if someone can only use low settings to play then his intention is to play the game not explot it, its a term made by those who run these servers and i can understand how some want to play on level terms and thats understandable but exploit, not sure about that.. Its a word the admins use to kick those who have "an upper hand" due to graphically settings and again if one was to have a strong gaming rig and turned down settings to have an upper hand then yes he is well aware of what he is doing but this is not the case if someone can only run the game on low.

Either way the admin gets to choose what ever rules he wants to impose and thats fair but maybe a "people with low end pcs not allowed" rule may be more sensible in this case to avoid this kind of confusion

I have never played on the server, but was quite aware of the mutator.

I think it reasonable for server providers to set terms of usage. In this case the justification outweighs by far negative concequences. The server provides a more uniform visual presentation of the game to players at the expense of excluding some low end rigs.

Seems a reasonable tradeoff given it is a privately funded server.
