To all Red Orchestra Players
Hey guys. I was recently considering buying this game. Considering the buying price is pretty reasonable. My only question is what is the player base like? Can I expect a lot of servers with people in them In my region? Or is it gunna be all foregin servers. In which case I would hate that.

Only about two full servers at any one time and that's the truth despite the absurd claims of those who don't realize that those other servers reading 64/64 are bot-ridden.

If you're in the western USA, stay away as you will be stuck in high ping hell.

Also, you probably want to wait until Rising Storm is released if you actually decide to purchase. Rising Storm will give you access to RO2 multiplayer (you don't want single player RO2 as it is a complete waste of time due to the world's worst AI.)

When you add it up, you're better off with a different game. Check out ARMA. RO2's story is one of glitches, bugs and neglect from TWI who decided to screw over their earliest customers yet again by asking them to purchase Rising Storm with only a minor discount as an incentive.

game is very good, i recommend it
tho the player count it quite low, depending where you are from you should probably look into that before purchasing

I live in Asia and I am able to play on servers in the US and Australia. I even played on some European ones, but the ping was pretty high. It's a fun game and frankly I have found it less buggy than ARMA, though I can't speak for ARMA 3 yet.

Good to know. I have a solid connection soo as long as its in the eastern/ southern region of the US (given the fact that im in the midwest) Im not worried.

I play RO2 on a GTX 260M which is basically the same as one of your 8800's on low settings with a steady framerate. I don't think you'd have any problems.

RO2 is much better than when it was launched. Dont believe this guy. There are plenty of usually full U.S. servers, and a lot more European servers with many people playing. Also the discount is significant not minor. Please dont spread misinfo. There also arent very many bugs now, just like 4 I've seen rarely. The modding community is pretty great too.

That is true.
Dont believe the blind RO2 fanboys that love the CoD-gameplay, TWI really failed on RO2 compared to RO1 and its still full of bugs and badly optimized.

Plenty of full US servers? Please list this "plenty" and exclude bot servers, please.

What is the significant discount for RS? And why isn't RS free for RO2 owners who have the "In Before Reset" achievement?

Stop the fanboyism.

Wise decision.

He who believes that this game only has 2 servers full that arnt bot ridden clearly has his filters messed up.
BCG | T.I.G. May 4, 2013 @ 5:08pm
He who sees 64/64 on fifty servers clearly does not understand the difference between the Steam Overlay server listing for RO2 and the in-game server listings.

Sorry, but Im not a fanboy, I have plenty of complaints, but I dont like it when people spread lies to get people to see what they see. You're spreading blatant lies, also these servers are 2fjg,TWB,RGN,-=TAT=-, Metalgamers(usually full). Thankfully they arent making the same mistake with RS like RO2's launch, they also said they would consider something for people with the "inb4reset" achievment, but so far no more info than that atm.
BCG | T.I.G. May 4, 2013 @ 8:03pm
TAT, 40-1 and 2fjgclan are the only ones who get activity and they are NOT full 24/7. TWB and Metalgamers (???) are NOT full of activity. Sometimes that is the result of time differences (40-1 is in the UK, I believe) but the several hundred other third party servers are nothing but bots.

It's a largely abandoned game and shame on TWI for not doing a better job of getting players into the official servers and leaving game owners to the whims of anti-social miscreant admins who I have personally seen ban some of my fellow players for nothing more than, "...cause I can!"
