JOIN US NOW !!!
don't forget to join the classic group too ! http://steamcommunity.com/groups/401classicserver
Seriously though: classic is the only right and true path. Not realism mode which is just action mode without crosshair.
Now! I have played COD, BF2 way back just to get it out of the way and ran over to Ofp and ARMA, until it was attacked/bitten by zombies. I had to find an escape and evasion route and found RO2 as a safe haven away from these walking dead`s.
I think I have played action mode once or so because the game demanded it before I could play Realism mode - that`s how I remember it.
Now! To the point of it all. I have been interested in classic mode (playing realism now), but the servers are empty - you have a classic community, where are they? Are they playing? If yes, what are they playing?
What is the difference between realism and classic mode? On a more serious attempt to get classic mode shine.
I would like to hear from those, who have played or playing both and, of course, from those, who only play this mode.
The only thing I can se is that you are not lvl up. The demand on team play is the same, am I right?
Strong points? How about strong points?
you still get weapon xp, raise your honor lvl etc
i'll get back home in 2-3 hours so see you there and bring your friends too !
- Class rank and weapon bonuses and unlocks do not apply (although you can still level them for use in Realism)
- Less stamina
- Slower to bring up sights, especially if trying to bring them up from a sprint
- More weapon sway
- More recoil
- No "Focus" to look closer
- Squad Leaders only get bolt-actions as their primary
- No spawn on SL
- No bandaging (it magically stops your bleeding automatically)
- No mini-map (compass instead)
The main difference is that with less stamina, no spawn on SL and more weapon sway, it generally slows everything down: people don't run nearly as often, as fast or as far, don't get back into the fight as quickly (since they always have to run back from normal spawn points) and shooting someone at range takes a little more time to line up sights on them.
Honestly, I don't find it any harder than Realism, just a slower more methodical style of gameplay. I like both Realism and Classic, and would probably play Classic a fair bit if there were some regularly populated servers, but I think the Classic snobs that always whine about Realism need to shove a sock in it.
If you haven't tried it, and can find a server with a few people, give it a shot. Maybe it's something you'll like, maybe not, but no reason not to try it for yourself and see.
And got an idea, what classic is all about (just an idea though) :D
Vent to the 40-1 UK#2 Server to check some aiming and other stuff out. As Im not one who like to go against bots I left after 1st round on Hanto - just to se when I left two other players on the server, but hey, will be in later.
Have to check out this classic some more. One thing I like though is the count down is gone as I understand it.
Sorry just saw you answer now. Thx.
you forgot to mention lockdown and peripheral indicators http://www.gametrailers.com/videos/gbo0nl/red-orchestra-2--heroes-of-stalingrad-mechanics-walkthrough--cam--part-i ( 0:35 )
UK's most feared pistolero aka ~LordKhaine~ is joining the server now, can't wait to die by his hands :D
