Connection issues after free weekend?
Free weekend, tried the game for the first time for several hours over the weekend with no connection issues. Loved it. Bought it.

Now however, I'm getting connection issues specifically the 'speed hack' issue.

I've followed the technical solutions FAQ and it hasn't helped. I also tried waiting for the next day and still hasn't solved anything.

So next logical question, is anyone else having the same issues?

So to add a few more details...

1. Tried deleting settings in the 'my games' folder
2. did the verify cache
3. tried reinstalling punkbuser and updating via the /steamapps/common ...
4. tried different times of day
5. tried many different servers

Almost seems directly linked to the point in time when I parted with the money for the game :( Will try reinstalling

Having the same issue, fear not. I'm on ethernet so there really is no excuse, it's server-side and poor netcode.

Managed to stay up and give it a late night test and was much quicker. Seems it might be my connection :( 8mb download speed counts for nothing.

i can't say for sure, but isn't packet loss like the biggest reason to get speed hack? seems i've heard it a few times. it bugs me that when i run that ping test i can't get it to measure packet loss either. not having speed hack problems. (very rarely) i just have never been able to test it and it bugs me. if i were you, i'd look into testing for packet loss just to rule that out.

Hmm... doen'st seem to match up from my side.

Packet loss 0%, ping 48, jitter 38 http://www.pingtest.net/result/90534097.png

I give up. Just gonna put this game back on the shelf for a while. More money wasted on games.

My connection is fine; bandwidth large, latency very low and packet loss non existent. This problem has got me scratching my head! If I can be bothered I will check to see if Punkbuster, etc. is behaving, the heap of sheat might need a manual update.

it wouldn't be a bad idea to update it manualy. i think you have to go into your hard drive and make sure the old version is deleted first. not sure though. better safe than sorry.
