Congratulations to the winners, I can't wait to see these on the offical list where more people will be playing them. I've already played most of them as custom maps and they're great; I'm particularly fond of Otori Shima.

It will be interesting to see how they play out with a full-server of players, unfortunately servers running custom maps tend to have very few players.

It won a prize in a previous competition. I believe it came third in the one that Bridges won.

Oh ok then.

I also recall them mentioning that it could be considered for a later release, but apparently it must have come to nothing.

A massive shame, it remains one of my favourite maps.

Bridges of Druzhina, a big coverless axis-stacked map won the last map contest. A map based of an DH map which had more armor, was bigger (even with 50p max) and alot more cover for the attacking team.

Really makes you wonder about TWI's quality control.

Do you ever have anything positive to say? Bridges is an awesome map where the axis frequently lose. All it takes from the allies is some small amount of coordination and cooperation and they whipe the floor with the axis. I almost always play Allies btw. Bridges is my favourite map at the moment.

On the topic of this contest though I honestly expected Kita Jima to be higher. So a beautiful map and so much fun to play.

Congrats to all the mappers mentioned all the same!

I think the problem with the first map contest was that they were not much maps to choose from. The number of maps that entered the first contest was very low. Compared to the custom maps we get in RS these days most maps fron the first contest look rather weak.

However every map that entered the second contest is great in my opinion.

Well it also depends what kind of gameplay you like. Big and more open maps also give players (ha ha ) a lot of space for tactics.
